What day and time should I schedule our session?

I recommend we schedule our session during daylight as natural light leads to the best quality and authenticity of colors. If you want to capture your morning procedure, wake the children and have a family breakfast, I'll be there in time!

How far in advance should I schedule a session?

It's never too early to get on the calendar. Spring and Fall are particularly popular times of the year.

How do I schedule a newborn session?

Once you know you'd like to work with me, we reserve time on the calendar. After the baby is born, we pick the exact day and time of the session. If you want to shoot the baby right after delivery, we can also work that out. The good thing about videography is that there is no posing, so the session won't be exhausting for either of you.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

Rescheduling is no problem. We'll find a new session date that works for both of us. I do ask for a $150 deposit to hold your date.

Can I hire you to shoot my pet, wedding, headshot, party, etc?

Let's talk about your project and if I think it's right for both of us, game on! If not, I'll recommend some great folks to help you out.

What can I expect during the session?

My goal is to create a relaxed and fun experience while capturing organic moments of your family. Let your kids be kids, be yourself and I will take care of the rest. If you need inspiration about what to do or where to go, let me know and I will come up with some ideas.  I shoot on location at your home, in your neighborhood, in a park or fun urban spot.

What should we wear?

Whatever makes everyone feel comfortable! Colors and layers are fun. If possible, I would avoid white, black or bold patterns. I'd also avoid having everyone the same color. Wardrobe changes are also doable if you'd like variety.

Should we bring anything with us?

A blanket to sit on can be handy - especially with babies. A special toy that inspires play (balls, bubbles, balloons) can also bring out some great moments with kidsI also recommend having some non messy snacks and a drink on handUnless getting messy is the idea - ice cream anyone?!

How do I prepare for a newborn session, do I need anything?

You don't need to do a thing. I'll send you some info ahead of time with a couple things that are helpful to have on hand, but you don't need to clean up, time feedings, or any of that. I know as a parent you’re likely not getting much sleep, we'll keep it stress free.

What if it rains?

If the weather is not cooperative, we'll either move the shoot indoors or reschedule. I'll contact you the day before our session if I anticipate this will be the case.

How soon can I see the video?

Videos will be uploaded and sent to you within 1 week of the session. (only exception due to illness or vacation)

How many photos will I see and get to keep?

In addition to the video, you will also get 10 photos. I select and edit the best images from our session. You will receive these as high resolution jpeg files.

What if I'm unhappy with the video?

I want you to love your video. If you are not happy, I will work with you to make it right.

Will the photos be in color or black & white?

I usually provide a mix and will edit the image depending on what I think best suits the photo. If you have a preference, please let me know. The video will always be in color.
